David Foster is one of the country's premier competitive surfers. The one time English Cadet Champion went on to represent England and Britain in the European and World Amateur Championships (placed 3rd and 47th respectively) at junior level. In between setting up a media company and chasing the best waves Cornwall has he somehow manages to find the time to help students learn to surf.

Dave has been teaching at the Academy for 5 years.

Now in his fifth year as a surfing coach, all round waterman Chris Ranford has been a bodyboarder, surfer and general beach lover for 14 years now. It was about time he put his expertise and experience into coaching!

Last winter's globetrotting saw Chris take on the grinding breaks of West Australia and foiled perfection of Balinese coral reefs. His toils this season will hopefully propel him towards the endless point-breaks of South America.

Chris has been coaching for 5 years and is a Level 3 coach.
